I think it's because when they are by themselves, no one is around to judge them, even if it's just friends or family. When they are around other people, they don't know what this or that person is thinking about them or something else. So they try to act different to supposedly 'satisfy' the other person and make sure they're considered 'normal' or 'cool'. Some people are just uncomfortable around other people and could be very shy. Hope it helps!

How can you tell what they're acting like when they're by themselves if you're not there?

I would say most people talk out loud when they're with other people, and they may be more curious when with other people, because they're having conversations and exploring ideas instead of just daydreaming, working or doing quiet things at home.

because when we are by ourselves, we're not being judged for our actions and thoughts. we're free to do as we please because no one is watching. nonetheless, when we are around others, especially those we do not know, we are afraid of being looked at in a wrong one, and therefore we are more polite and more socially acceptable. around friends, we feel we need to act a certain way because we want to uphold an image, be it the funny one or the smart one or whatever. that's why people act differently in different crowds.

Then you need a psychologist's answer! LOL

I guess because they feel that they can't be themself around other people...it''s sad but hey it is true! They are uncomfortable just being themselves or the way they usually are when they think no one is looking.

regrettably, in our society people that are rich or fantastically or are have too quite some something are appeared as much as... and every person needs to be appeared as much as... to get some interest. I see this in general in extreme college. all the females elect to be like the main undemanding lady. all of them elect to have what she has. splendor, funds... then all of them start up performing like her, quite of themselves, simply by fact they don't think of that being themselves is adequate. it is with the aid of the fact they have insecurities, fears... that they elect no person to confirm.
