I resent the fact that he is playing games up in Washington instead of helping to find a real solution. Repealing the taxes is just wrong.

Oops, I'm a republican, but I wanted to answer.

I have heard Rangel call for the draft, have not heard of him wanting to repeal the tax cuts.
As far as the draft-I think it's a great idea, especially given his reasons. Maybe whatever idiot happens to be running this country will err on the side of caution instead of erring on the side of cra**y intelligence the next time they want to invade a country.
As far as repealing the tax cuts-as long as they are the tax cuts that the Republicans passed for the multi-billionaires and corporations, I have absolutely zero problem with that also.

I want the draft to happen! It would open a lot of these greedy peoples eyes. I was in Iraq and all I have to say is that america needs to send some of these punks over to see for themselves whats going on instead of criticizing it without knowing a damn thing about it.

I observed 3 solutions in this question that recommend that the tax cuts of recent years has delivered in greater funds to the gov. that's thoroughly unfaithful. we are nonetheless spending greater beneficial than we take up at a insufferable fee THE DEBT IS THE take care of. do not take my word for it, look up us of a Comptroller and examine for your self.

With our current status with our American soldiers serving over seas; I'm inclined to be support his recommendation. How many tours are we prepared to send our citizens into? What happen to our civil duties in this country? Lastly, if we had a draft structure; perhaps we wouldn't be so apt to run into war disputes around the world.

Not at all. He says it will help rich kids get into the army instead of the poor children from his community. But I think a draft is unnecessary and repealing tax cuts is unwise.

He was making a point. If Repubs want to send more troops to be maimed or die in the hopeless war in Iraq, then they should be prepared to use the draft to get those troops. Outside of Sen-elect Webb, no members of congress or the administration have children fighting in this war. Send the Bush twins or Cheney's daughters if this war is so important.

I think the idea is to make a war monger like bush do something he is not accustomed to doing. Thinking. Maybe if he actually cared about the kids who were over there dying...he'd think about the reasons for sending them there in the first place and we wouldn't be in a mess like we're in now.
