To lose yourself in the book, experience emotions along with the characters in it, and at the same time learn new things about life, love, relationships, etc.

Almost being able to hear the author's "voice" in my head as I read the book.

If a book has been really well written, I can feel as if the author is telling the story to me personally. From their use of language, I can almost catch the sound of their voice, their inflection and accent ... but not quite. It's like listening through curtains ... or tuning in an old-fashioned radio; the more I read the clearer the voice becomes ... until I reach the end of the book, by which time I can hear the author perfectly ... and almost feel like I've found another friend!

Reading. I love it. TThere are many great things about reading to me, but the best thing has to be is that I become one with the tale that I am reading about. I experience the hardships the characters go through. I befriend them. sometimes I don't know what to feel when I'm reading certain parts in books. Should I feel mad? Sad? Should I be partying? It's great to loose yourself in a book. It's a time (for me) to forget all the troubles in the world. To forget everything that's bothering you. For me, readings a peacefule time, when I enter a different world, away from ours, where the only thing I can hear are the words I read swimming inside my head, chanting their tale, and creating a picture.

I read to enter another time and place, of course I write as well and I take copious notes and jot them in a book known as my 'I'll use that phrase some day' I have always read and always written, sometimes I wonder why as I'm my own worst critic and never publish anything. I feel it's not good enough

The knowledge that I learn. Whether reading fiction or non-fiction, the research that went into the book to make it a good story makes it worth the while. And if I really enjoy the book, that is an added plus.

I have two things. One is variety. The second is that books sort of transport you into another universe. You can experience the life of Harry Potter one day, and the next day you can be living in the Great Depression. i couldn't live without books.

Different books suit different moods.... so I always try to have a stack of books waiting for me. Sometimes I want something romantic, sometimes I want practical information, and sometimes I want suspense or mystery or biography. Books can take me to far away places.
