Recently, in the middle of the canned food aisle at Meijer I saw an acquaintance I hadn't seen in awhile just after her husband had died quite suddenly. I was telling her how sorry I was when I started to cry making her cry, too. I'd call that worse wouldn't you?

I tried to talk to a bipolar patient I had once in my ambulance. I thought I was bringing up neutral topics to put her at ease, but it seemed to make her worse.
