No they do not usually bite. for the first couple days you probably do not want to handle it because it will be to nervous and might bite. They might also bite if you have a good sent on you like grapes or apple but no a pain full bite they will sniff you then start to lick then you will start to fell its teeth but they are really sweet and make cute squealing noises and jump. One thing I notice that I heard they like is a snack called Timothy Hay or any type of guinea pig hay but this is not their actual food just a great snack. I hope you enjoy your pet.

It really depends on their personality. Some will just bite more than others, like cats or dogs, but for the most part they will not. If you treat them right, give them attention, feed them, and other basics, they should be fine. Any animal, if provoked, will bite to defend itself. So as long as you don't provoke them, a guinea pig should not bite.

If you get a guinea pig and find it does bite, don't give up! It may just be scared because it is in a new environment. Give it some time to settle in before you make up your mind, and if it keeps bitting it's not the end of the world. Try to bond with it more, without scaring it. Don't reach your hand into the cage and never suddenly grab it.

Also, sometimes they will just nibble at your fingers, but that is not bitting. If something smells good on your hand, they will nibble.

Any animal with teeth (or a beak) will bite if provoked. Guinea pigs are usually pretty good about not biting, though.
They say rats bite the least out of any of the rodents, though, if you're worried about your new pet biting you.
I've been bitten by both guinea pigs and rats, along with hamsters, cockatiels, geese, ducks, cats, dogs, budgies, canaries, horses, and pretty much any other animal I've handled. It's okay to say some species are less likely to bite than others, but no animal is guaranteed not to bite you.

Uhmm, it depends. We've had a guinea pig for year's. She did really good with people. Only because we kept her around everyone so she wasn't so nervous. I think the only reason they'd bite is if there not comfortable or nervous. ANY animal is capable of biting.

All animals can bite.
Some may be more or less likely to depending on their temperament. Even the gentlest of guinea pigs will bite if they are frightened, ill, mistreated, hurt, or not handled properly.

I had one years ago and she was awesome. She never bit except once and that person was handling her wrong.
