My cousins are coming over and one of them is totally annoying. I try to agnore him when he asks stupid questions but he does all he can to get everyones attention. He always gets their full attention. How can I prevent this from happening this year?

bring up a very intellegent conversation (one that is totally unlike you to bring up) and then make sure your cousin knows nothing about the topic you are talking about, and when he says that he doesnt get it, to teach him about it very kindly so that everyones says hat you are just the sweetest thing they have every seen and hey will totally forget about your cousin

Can you keep him busy by asking him to help in the kitchen? Keep him busy and away from the guests as much as possible! At the dinner table, maybe you could make a pre-arrangement with your other cousins to sort of keep the conversation flowing away from mr annoyance so he can't embarrass himself, or be the center of attention. If you all work together maybe he'll get the hint and be better behaved.

I have a niece like that (Drama Queen)
The last time we had family over she started in and I looked at her and I said.
Wow, you sure are needing allot of attention, what can we do to make you feel more at ease.
She has not dominated the conversation nor brought her drama to us since.

Your cousin is another year older this year (as we all are) so I wouldn't worry too much. I am sure some of the adults will give him attention because they can see that he needs it. Just be yourself and I'm sure you will be fine. Enjoy your holidays.

Not letting it "get to you" is the easiest way out of this problem.

So what if he's a goober? He's family, everyone has a goober in their family.

my sympathies, I have one of those, too. Good luck. And this one is an adult, one year older doesn't help.
