Depends on the couple. It's great on the honeymoon and for about 2 months after (or longer, again it depends on the couple), then LIFE settles in.

Some people can get by it, they don't let outside pressures come between their love. Sex may be less in quanity, but not quality. Those are the people who are what I call a real "Love Match".

Some couples have to really make an effort to keep the "romance" alive. If they are lazy, or even depending on how they were raised (not to mention what type of "baggage" they might bring with them), the effort might not be made either A) because they don't know how - "My parents are good with each other. They don't fight and I can tell they love each other, but how do I do that?" Or B) they just don't want to - "She/He is always nagging me. And he/she wants me to do stuff I don't like. I'm just not sure I'm in to this."

So there is no true "age" or "time period" that they stop........sometimes it just happens. And it's really sad!

a few different scenarios, figure out which one you're in

a.) you're into someone else; either those romantic feelings have left your partner, and wandered onto someone else, believe me, you're going to have those feelings for someone ...

b.) you two aren't doing anything interesting anymore; if it's the same stuff, naturally you're going to loose interest

c.) you want something that the other person can't provide; it's easy to loose interest if you're thinking about what something might be like with someone who is different physically from your mate; the worst case scenario is that it is the only thing that turns you on, best case, you'll probably have to resort to thinking about that to stay in the mood otherwise

d.) one of you wants to do something that, technically, is wrong, and the other doesn't. I'm talking about stuff that involves going outside the relationship, which is always wrong, whether the decision is mutual or not.

e.) you both are too tired and lazy to take the initiative to make anything happen, stop working so much ...

f.) distractions like stress, kids, money, kids, money, stress, in-laws, kids, money, eg ...

About one minute before they die. Man, you people have the wrong idea about couples who have been married a long time. We don't stop having sex, we don't stop loving each other, we don't look elsewhere - what we have with each other is magical and loving and long lasting, and full of love and excitement.

Do you mean with each other? It depends on how devoted they are to their sex life - some couples never stop.
