i have two sporting cup kind of things and im trying to discover the history of them

Have you thought of going onto either the Stoke City page or the Burnley page and scrolling down through the history or archives section. Probably your best bet. The only result I can remember from Burnley is when they played Spurs at Wembley in the F A Cup and lost 3-1 and that only sticks in my mind as it's the first Cup final I can remember.

Have a look at www.claretsmad.co.uk. Scroll down the menus on the left and under "History" there's a link for "Games to Remember". There's one Stoke match there. Also to Stoke fan - Burnley nabbed your manager too
