I do too! And have for 15 years. [I'm 16] The public school system in Louisiana is a joke, so if you live here - your parents are right! Also, it depends on your state. For example, I know in Houston, TX, their Public Schools are magnificent! As for Baton Rouge, my school offers much more educationally than the average public school here. I know at one school, there have been huge fights and school lockdowns because of the arguements between New Orleans people and Baton Rouge People. I know that the media overdoes it, but even so... I wouldn't want to be at a place where that happened for just one day. At another public school down the road from ours a couple of weeks ago there was a gun found on a student. A week later a major drug bust at their highschool football game. That is unreal to me. And like I said, I know these aren't everyday things, but still. I also think that a few bad kids at these schools automatically represent the other kids and that school badly. The worst thing people do in my highschool is drink, and that is about it. I know I'm sheltered. Fine by me.
I would also like to add this:
I can't stand my school. I realize that it's filled with hypocrites. I know I'm being sheltered from the real world. And the rules are RIDICULOUS. However, I also know that I can suck it up for two more years rather than go to an East Baton Rouge Parish School. Quite honestly, I would be literally scared to go there.

I'm in grade 11 and i came from a private christian school to a public school right now I'm at a really good public school called Heatley Secondary College it is way much better than my old school, i am learning much more than i was before and the teachers and students are friendlier and i have more friends than i did before as well, i left Calvary Christian College because that school is way over protective they won't let you do anything! and here is the worse part if you come to form class without your hat or school diary you get a paper pick up! how stupid is that!!! and they will not allow you to wear any makeup or jewelry or any long ear rings and for the guys they will not let them wear any silver chains or bracelets but the school I'm at they allow those things and I'm happy here, you should really get your parents on letting you come here it's a awsome school trust me!

I go to a private school and it's OK i guess. There is a lot of things that we don't have that public schools do have. If i had a choice i think i'd rather go to public school because the kids there get offered so much more than we do. they have all these AP classes and whatever else, we don't have any of that! the only thing "good" about our school is the religious teaching and the discipline is more strict, so u learn better theoretically. but since i already do good in school and have the discipline to do my work, i think it would be better for me to have the more opportunities that public school offers.

nicely, i'm a Christian, and such as you stated, a Christian atmosphere is a greater encouraging one. i'm finished Italian, for this reason i became raised Catholic. while i became approximately 13 i began out to study the bible. Alot of the stuff Catholics pontificate isn't even in the bible! Christians stick to God's policies, whilst Catholic make up their very own nonscence policies. My youthful brothers pass to non-public Christian college, and all their instructors are so surprising and motherly to all the scholars. At Catholic colleges, they're only recommend. My grandfather went to Catholic college from kinder to 11th grade abd he suggested the nuns have been impolite and smacked the youngsters with rulers in the event that they did no longer do their homework. All in all, a Christian atmosphere is a sturdy, loving, encouraging, friendly, and kin oriented atmosphere. They pass by utilising the bible and don't teach you a team of made up crap that Catholic colleges do.

Well, I think a lot of it depends on how old you are, and then also a lot depends on where you live. I really think that for grammar school and even through most of middle school there won't be 'that' much of a difference, but highschool I could see a wider disparity. Don't you have any public school friends in your neighborhood? Ask them.

i went to a public schooll for 5th to 8th grade. before i went to a catholic school, and im in a catholic highschool now. private schools are soo much orderly and not out of control. public schools have fights EVERYDAY and there are plenty of drug busts. its preetty much the real world, but at a smaller scale. its harder to stay concentrated and many times the teachers arent very good. if i were you, for the education, be happy you go to private school, i know i am...

Christian schools are the worst as far as real life skills go. Academically they are better, but they are filled with hypocrites. Half of my schools years were spent in them, the other half in public schools.

Please stay in your Christian school and be content. You aren't missing anything and you are gaining a lot - a Christian perspective in all your studies and an outlook that will be helpful to you for life.
I have attended both Christian and public schools.
