side. At lunch I went to the loo and there was quite a lot of blood in my knickers. Am really worried about this as its right in the middle of my menstrual cycle, not due on for another 2 weeks. Does anyone have a clue what it can be related to before I take myself to the docs? Thanks for the help.

I really advise you go straight to the doctors. The place you say the pain is, is the area of the kidneys and I would guess the blood is coming from your urine. Call the NHS hotline now and check with them.

Good luck!

Sounds like you may have a bladder or kidney infection. Easy to sort with a visit to your doc and a course of anti-biotics. Whatever else you do - you need to see doc cos chances are it wont get better on its own.

Get it checked asap but try not to worry too much in the meantime. A friend at work is just getting over the similar symptoms and she's pregnant, she actually thought the bleeding and pain meant she was losing the baby. It's very common in women.

It could be a bladder or kidney infection. Try and get an emergency appointment at the doctors. Hopefully they will give you antibiotics which should clear it up in a couple of days but it will only get worse if you leave it.

Could be a kidney stone

I agree with others saying you should see a doctor.

Also, menstrual blood is quite different from normal blood - could you tell if it was menstrual blood you were looking at?

Could be a kidney stone. Don't know your age but they can occur teens onwards. Not immediately dangerous but extremely painful when they move! Get to your GP now. If that's a problem for them go to A&E. if it happens again.

Go and telephone a doctor and tell him or her what happened, or else is there a drop in centre at a hospital near you. If so go and see someone, or else see your own Dr. tomorrow morning.
