donate to a charity in her name... what are some reliable charities i can donate to? and also.. i know this sounds kinda silly... but i'm only 14... when you donate in someones name, you just put their name instead of yours right?.. sorry i've never done this before.. is there anything else i need to do? thanks! oh yeah.. and is 20$ enough? because it's out of my money and i just work at the beach for a little.. thanks!

St Jude's Ranch for Children and the Make A Wish foundation are both very deserving charities. I've posted the links below. And yes, $20 is a very generous donation. When you donate you can request to make it in your mom's name as a Christmas gift. They'll probably send you a card to give her to show that you donated in her name. By the way, this is a wonderful idea for a Christmas gift and I'm sure your mom will be happy with whatever charity you choose, and will be very proud of you for your thoughtfulness.

What does your mom like? If she likes animals, you can donate to the Humane society. Does she love babies? Try the March of Dimes or St. Jude's Hospital. You can type into google search " charities for_____( insert animals , children, whatever you want)You can call the Better Business Bureau in your city and get a list,+/or check if the business you're planning to give to is reputable. They are especially good for finding a local charity
As far as just putting it in their name, it depends, different charities do it different ways .Talk to the charity.
I think you're mom already got her present and it's you. What a great, thoughtful , and loving gift you've picked to give her .

Salvation Army is a good charity. You'd give the money to the organization, and clarify that it be donated in your mother's name. I but believe they would give you a receipt for a tax-write off, (for your mother's taxes)
Or you could give to Toys -4-Tots you would purchase the gifts and drop them wrapped in the Toyss-4-Tots donation box
Does your school donate to needy families at Christmas time? My children's classes all adopt a family every year. Your school may know of a needy child that you could donate gifts to in your mother's name.
$20.00 is plenty for any type of donations! It's helping to bless a family. That's a beautiful idea you have. If you donate to an organization apart from your school, let your mom. She'll still be surprised. You have to be careful when dealing with money especially at Christmas time. Good Luck!

Just donate the amount you want to the charity and tell them it is in the name of your mother. They will have you fill out a form to keep the donation in her name.

You are a very kind, caring person to want to donate to a charity in your mother's name. Your mother will truly appreciate and love this gesture. If you mother is an animal lover, donate to a local animal shelter. You can always donate to a local shelter for homeless people or for veterans. You can donate as much or as little money as you can afford. It will all be appreciated. You can word your donations like "I would like to donate $____ on behalf of my mother, [her name]." A great charity is Cure Autism Now (CAN) and you can donate to them on www.walknow.org and you can just let them know you want to put it in your mom's name

Yeah you may want to ask your mum what charity is her prominent, barnardos or any little ones or cancer charities are very strong. in case you regulate your recommendations about donating to a charity then you may purchase a celebrity in her call, am observe confident if that is going to likely be sufficient funds although, solid success on inspite of you do!!
