In your opionion, what kind of friend would you like. A person you can always know have fun with them no matter what, or someone that you can totally trust and confind in them about anything?

I want friends I can trust and confide in. Fortunately my friends are people I can do both with, have fun and trust. I would not have a friend I couldn't trust even though I might not confide in all of them, not that I can't, I won't.

This may qualify for most cynical answer, but a friend you can always joke with will be a friend forever, and a source of comfort in bad times.
A friend who holds all your secrets could be of great worry if you ever came to a disagreement.

Both of those traits are what make a really good friend. I think that if you can find a friend that has both of those in them-keep that friend for an extremely long time.

joking with a person and having a good time is very important but you can't always find someone to tell all your secrets to which is very important you have to know who to trust

Definitely a friend you can trust; they are way too hard to find. It seems that everyone lets you down eventually.

I would say a combination of the two. That's what my 2 best friend are, and I couldn't be happier.

I vote for the type of friend, that will listen to what ever you have to say, will not think you are looney and walk away.
the type that would lay their life on the line for you.
