Your baby may simply have a foremilk-hindmilk imbalance, which can cause green frothy poops that one might mistake for diarreha.

Also check your diet for food sensitivity triggers.

Switching to non-human milk subtitutes before you've exhausted all other avenues will probably cause more problems.

No.

And I hope that before you quit, you confirmed with a doctor that your baby really was experiencing diarrhea? 8-12 mushy, runny poops a day are not unusual in a breastfed newborn...

But all that matters, in the end, is that your baby gets fed. The method of delivery, bottle or breast, is secondary.

I did with my oldest son. His was scalding his little bottom. But before you quit, check and see if there is anything that you are eating or drinking that the baby could be allergic to. Noone told me that all I would had to of done was stop drinking milk and I could have continued with the breastfeeding successfully. He was allergic to milk and in the end ended up on a Soy based formula. Check with your Dr and find out if he could be allergic to something in your diet!! Good luck!!
