So is it fair to draft those who are against the war, by your logic of course. The military draft is a dirty business and I believe I have conscensus that Vietnam is the prime example. When the people do not support the war, they sure as hell are not stepping up to die for it. I know people who skipped to Canada to avoid the conflict and we know those who have political connections find ways to get out of it, this means its left to the middle class and poor to carry on a rich man's fight.

why is everybody arguing about the draft,it will do us no good to send a million man army to irag,if they are just going to be forced to fight a democrat/liberal war,u.s. troops stand and be killed, while are enemy sets road side bombs, suicide bombers, hides in mosque, and or behind women, and children,if you do not let an army fight as an army is meant to fight(kill all, destroy all,and survive the war),all the kings men,and all the kings horses will do no good if all they are allowed to do is stand and be killed!

Oh yeah we got a whole bunch of wind-bag cowards, i got just the medicine for-em, start the Draft ASAP and increase the recruitment age of up to 35 years of age, shoot for 4.5 million member force! With China around this is a must!

What is wrong with not wanting to have my son's life depend on some high school dropouts who do not want to be there and cannot be counted on?

There is no need for a draft. The military is at the maximum size allowed by law. If you think we need a larger Army then get Congress to change the law.

i disagree, our force that is over there right now VOLUNTERRED and most of them want to be there

If we have a draft and send over a bunch of people who do not want to be there, our force's skill will decrease

and you can support the troops with care packages, or doing things back home to help the troops

FOR EXAMPLE: many women and some men supported WW2, but they worked in weapon plants, took care of things at home, and helped the troops in general, that is what supporter's of this war can do

The generals responsible for fighting the war don't want the draft. Are you calling them cowards. Did it occur to you that we are better defended by an all volunteer military?

I disagree. A draft would not be the best way to go. It would be pointless with our lack of strategies.

The military doesn't want conscripts. Conscripts don't perform well. I saw plenty examples of that in SE Asia.

no,although i think that some are cowards. the fact is,an all volunteer army works better because YOU make the decision to be in service-no-one else has made that decision for you.it is also beneficial to the military,as those who are in the service are more likely to be motivated to do the right thing.
