How do I wire the output from a Bush turntable (2 phono plugs) to the aux input of a Sony RG290 mini system (mini stereo jack socket)??

if your turntable only has the red/white plugs and no other wire....
then it has a preamp built in ... you need to buy a phono socket to mini jack extension lead.. try maplins...

First, you will need to get a phono preamp. The output and equalization curves of a turntable do not work well (if at all, depending on the system) with line level inputs. Then, use a RCA to mini cable from the phono preamp to your system. These are available in many price ranges and qualities, from basic Radio Shack to high end Kimber or Monstercable. Check out Jerry Raskin's Needle Doctor on-line for a phono preamp. You don't have to get a really expensive one. The LKG pre 600 has got good reviews, and it is $29.99.
