Can a man continue to have a close friendly relationship with a woman even after marriage?

Is the saying in When Harry Met Sally movie about "Men and women cant be friends because sex always gets in the way" a correct one?

The reason that line is so funny is because it is so true. If it were left up to men they would bang all their female friends.

Try and find a man that has never banged ANY female friend or a woman who has NEVER crossed the line with a male friend.

Men know that some times a female friends just wants to get laid and they know that it could be them to do it if the timing is right.

Hi,
I have been divorced for the past 8 years now and I have been raising my 3 kids completely on my own since my divorce hearing in 1998.
My ex- has not paid support in the last 7 years and at first, he took lower paying jobs to have his support payments reduced.
Then he stopped seeing the kids and didnt pay at all.
Now he works under the table for people who own a farm and my ex- feeds the farm animals for a living!!
So in my situation...I could never be friends with my ex- in fact, all I want is for him to get a real job and pay me for my back child support payments!!!!
I wont hold my breath though!!!
PS since I dont have an address on him, there is nothing that can be done to him.

YES! I have heard of many such post marriage friendship. I met two women who were married that came to the ER/Hospital to see/visit their exs.
My kids mother and I were married for 15 yrs and together had 4kids. I was friendly with her first husband. And there has often been family interactions with her, my current mate and ex mates.
Never been a problem. We would frequent family cook outs, Kings Dominion, or jut visit.

Yes. I'm proof. Married, divorced, and still best friends. Of course the sex thing isn't an issue...We're 8 states apart. We didn't connect as husband / wife but we can spend hours on the phone or IM at any hour.

No because of jealousies. When I got married my best female friend slowly quit coming around and finally I haven't seen her for over 10 years. However, my wife is my best friend and has been since our wedding day. I didn't treat my old friend different though, but maybe she felt like an intruder or she was jealous of my relationship with my wife.

From experience I can say that sometimes the friendship after a marriage has failed is better then before it all happened. Then again sometimes it's like pouring gas on a fire.

No, you can be friends. You just have to learn to swallow all the bad times, and try and be mature enough to know that it took being friends in the first place, so why lose that?

It can work and it does, for some.

I married my best friend, and I am his. Any other relationship which gets intimate, in emotional ways not in sexual, interferes with the marriage.

I think it is harder to remain friends because one will always be wanting something more. Eventually, when one of them gets into another relationship things will get too messy.

yes in a lot of cases but it takes hard work, its easier in general for men to get over the bitterness of a divorce, most do it for the sake of the children,
