Thats my name (my mother and father read The Lord of the Rings and loved that name and named me it) and I was thinking of maybe naming one of my kids that someday. And do you like the name Meriadoc (but I'll call him Merry)?

Haha that'd be funny if she did slap me... but you never know... by the time I actually do become a father and everything people might wactually like the name Peregrin and Meriadoc. I know they might get laughed at having the name Merry but not Pippin. Thats my name and nobdy yet has laughed at me. But sometimes they do call me Pippie (I hate that name) to make me mad.

PIPPIN IS THE BEST CHARACTER EVER!!!!!!!^-^ and i love coming up with odd naems for children, so i think it's be fine! and besides, Pergrin(e) is also a type of falcon. and i love the name Merry! if you want more 'odd' names, try looking at gaelic names; there are tons of really nice ones!

i'm jealous, you got a different name!! i got stuck with one half the female world seems to have...........

No, I dont... it sounds cute for an animal, but I cant imagine it for a person. I dont like Meriadoc either, especially for a boy because the nickname "merry" sounds like "mary" which, obviously, is a girl's name. Maybe if you were to name your kid something original like that, you could have a more "average" middle name that way they could later make the decision of which to go by.

Peregrin sounds too much of a word than a name.
Meriadoc reminds me of a confused person or a person with multiple personalities.
Just my honest opinion.

Not Meriadoc. Peregrin sounds cool, but not very practical. Sounds more like a middle name.

It's spelled Peregrine by the way. I have seen an artist on TV called peregrine. the male word for a peregrine is actually Tiercel. so if your child is a boy you should really call him that.

Well the real questions is do you like that name??? Every once in a while you find people with unique names and it all depends on whether you and your family like that name!!! It is unique...but with the popularity of the movie as with any movie...I am sure it will not stay unique. People tend to be influenced by pop culture when it comes to naming their children. SO, if you like it for you and want to carry it on down the generations...use it !!

Your so stupid. Name your child like you have brains. Names can prevent people from getting certain jobs. Keep that in mind before naming the kid something disgusting.
