i dont like that about her....should i tell her i dont want to be friends?

If you don't want to be her friend just because she dresses preppy, than that's not really a valid reason for breaking up your friendship.
If she "acts" preppy, which some, but not all, preps do, like acting rich, being stuck up, and acting like a snob, then you should consider breaking up your friendship with her depending on how serious she's acting.

If you don't want to be friends anymore just because she's preppy then yes, you should tell her that. She's better off without you anyway if that's what you base friendship on.

What do you have against preppy? Think about why you were friends with her in the first place. How did you become friends with her, and why?

You know that not wanting to be friends with a person because of that is low and shallow.If she is a prep why did you want to be friends with her anyway.Try to think about what you do like about her and not what you don't like about her.

I wouldn't tell her that you don't want to be friends, I would definitely tell that you don't like it. Just express your feelings to her and see where it takes you and your friendship.

That's a pretty DUMB thing to base a friendship on......one's personal style. Everybody has their own syle. You have yours and she has hers. They don't have to be alike for you to be friends. If you think that way, you're terribly superficial.
