The ACLU is one of the most dangerous and destructive groups in the US today. They, along with their liberal friends, are working hard to take away much of our freedoms by trying to force everybody to believe as they do. They are as bad as the ultra religious in their self rightous claptrap.

I will heartily agree their decision to represent NAMBLA was a stupid one. But, the ACLU has been a fine organization which represents the rights of any citizen who has been victimized because of prejudice, governmental encroachment on personal rights, and religious dogma trying to disguise itself as science. All they can do is file papers in court and let the courts decide if their argument for or against something is constitutional. One does not need to be a member in order to benefit from their services.

The ACLU does not just decide what is right and wrong for us. They merely take cases to court and the courts use their Constitutional authority to decide the case.
I swear are all the people who never passed ninth grade civics asking all these stupid questions, today?

The ACLU doesn't decide whats right and wrong...they just try to enforce the Constitution and other regulations that are implemented by the politicans WE elect. So I have no problem with it--in fact, I encourge it!

That's why the Democrats supports the ACLU.

You are free to file an amicus brief and state your opinion on any matter the ACLU files. The ACLU is an organization whose mission is to fight for civil liberties. It does not represent anyone except its members. The only entities that bring suits on your behalf is your state and federal government and of course, yourself.

They don't decide. They bring an issue before the court based on constitutional law and the court decides. They're an advocate for a liberal interpretation of constitutional rights.

it is always wrong for any one group deciding what is right for individuals. They can suggest but should not be able to hold any one free person to anything. To much power in one big hand.
