Do they really think there is something inside a crosswalk control system that "detects" a large crowd waiting to cross, so it changes the light faster?

It's so hilarious to see people with determined looks on their faces pulsating on that little button thinking they will actually get to cross the street quicker.. haha

LOL! I know...I've thought the same thing! One press is enough to let it know you're there. It's like people who will call the same person on the phone 4-5 times in a row without leaving a message b/c they neeeed to reach them. If the person is with the gynecologist (or something), they most likely will NOT be answering, yet they'll keep calling! Ah, well...such is life.

They do the same thing while waiting for an elevator, and have you ever seen someone hold a TV remote closer to the TV set and still keep pressing the buttons even though the batteries are dead?

Of course it makes it go quicker! Just like a red car drives faster, and saying 'come on, come on' whilst waiting in a queue makes your turn come quicker.
