Men can have issues trying to conceive their whole lives, if they have a low sperm count. However, men can also have success conceiving their entire lives when healthy.
Women, on the other hand, can have issues thier whole lives, but it does get harder with age. I know a 25 yr old who is really struggling to conceive. It really depends on the health of the woman. She may be perfectly healthy every other way, but can find it hard to conceive.
The link goes to a web site that shows the typical decrease in fertility with progession in age.

There isn't really an age for men - they keep producing sperm their entire lives.

Women, on the other hand, are born with all the eggs they will ever have. At the age of 30 it starts getting a little harder, by 35 it's even more difficult, and by 40 the door all but slams shut. Yes, there are always exceptions - some women get pregnant at 60, other women have trouble getting pregnant at 20.

If you are under 35 you will have a hard time finding a doc who will do more than basic testing on you until you have been trying to conceive for at least a year with no success. If you are over 35, you need to wait only (ha!) 6 months. Good luck!
