i have a bunn o matic and i dont have any instuctions on how to fill the tank in the back?

Turn it on and pour an entire coffee canister full of water into the back. Don't turn it off. It will start heating and make sounds. I think after 15 minutes or so, you could then make your first pot of coffee, by pouring in the desired amount of coffee into the back. Be sure you put the pot under immediately, because the original water you poured in will start coming out, steaming hot.

Is it the industrial type that you hook a water line into?
