I dont. I think when women make that statement, they need to really think about it first.
When I think about equality, its more about fairness. If Im doing a mans job, which I am, I should be paid equally. I work my as* off picking up 60-80 lb cases and I certainly dont wait for my male coworkers to come and help. If I took the job, I should be able to do it.
I also believe that if I ask a man out for a drink then I should be the one paying and not get pissed off when he doesnt automatically open his wallet.

I'm not sure if that's what all women think. Some will argue for equality when they mean domination. Others will take a humanistic approach and want all people to be equal. In relation to pay, yes, most women want to be paid like men. Women do not want to be just like a man. They want "fair" treatment, but most women do not want to act like men, or even be treated like men in instances where men are discriminated against.

Women dont think it means being just like a man, but rather having the same opportunities and respect as that which is shown to a man. These privleges are not what define a man but rather those that have been attributed to men by a male dominated system. God I hope that didn't sound like an attack, its not meant to be.... maybe i should have added "In my opinion"

Do u know what really gets on my nerves, women i work with that want to be equal and on equal pay, but expect all the men to do the hard manual labour, if u want equality then it works both ways, muck in.

That's a really good question! When women explain equality, they compare it to what men, past and present, have had or achieved. Why cant us women create our own dreams and aspirations? Why must we follow in the footsteps of a man?

I dont think that at all!!!!!

I believe in equality as in same pay, to be treated the same in the home and work place, and every where else for that matter!!!

There are some small minded men out there that feel threatened if a woman is earning more than them but woman have to except that, that a womans place is in the home, having kids and such.

All woman are asking for is RESPECT!!!!!!

why do men think that women are not equal to them?

The only thing that a woman can't be is a penis model....and God knows what a challenge that must be!!!!
