I am looking for people who have tried natural treatment for ADD in their children. I am considering Bright Spark for my daughter. I would like personal feedback from those who have tried it. Please do not respond if you or your child have not tried a natural solution.

There's no such thing as ADD. Doctors come up these terms and put children on unnecessary medications which actually work against their natural defences. The best way to develop concentration would be to get the child involved in sports, keeping the child doing something she's interested in doing everyday and stop watching TV. Don't get it into her mind that there's something wrong with her, . I was a very distracted child too, but these terms like ADD never existed in those days. I was considered absolutely normal and so i am today. I study ayurveda and know that the best way to treat these things is to give the child more attention and time, not medicines.

I knew a couple who actually found out that diet and regulation of order calmed their child down. Lowering sugar intake and carb intake calmed CC down because his body couldn't process the sugar or glucose in his blood stream so it came out as hyper activity. The routine of everyday things like when to get up, when to eat, etc. with a half hour flexibility for hectic days worked well and he concentrated better and was more prepared for every thing in his day.

There were still days he needed the ADD meds but they were far and few. I'd say give it a try and see where it goes. I've worked in daycares for 7 years and the kids with ADD calm down as soon as the parents leave, because they have a set routine and a balanced diet that is low in sugar for breakfast and lunch. Good Luck!!

PS. Get a second opinion. Sometimes teachers of young children tend to get frusurated and diagnosis on behalf of themselves and make you see the school nurse.

You wonder why we have ADD/ADHD. Let me ask you, when was the last time you saw kids go play a game of baseball, basketball, football, whatever? Never, all they do is just sit in the house and play video games. Now Diet, sorry mom, but you are poisoning your child. All the box food you give them, the sandwhiches, everything, is laden with sugar. All that crappy food is causing them to have huge spikes in insulin, lepin receptor problems, and causing them to gain weight, extra energy, and problems focusing. Get them on a healthy diet with exercise and watch the ADD/ADHD disappear.

Now ask yourself, when you were a kid, did you know anyone with this? Hmmm, do you thin the pharm compaines are pushing something. Now, change their diet and watch things change.

St. Johns wart may help
Co-enzyme Q10
Calcium and Magnesium
Multi Vit

Get the point, your child is malnuritied. We need food with nutrients, not empty cals.

Sorry, hope I was not too harsh, it is that you cannot rely on the govt or MD's to help with this, they do not push prevention. You have to be proactive and find things for yourself.

Hey ADHD is the problem and the solution is a fruit called the mangosteen from SE Asia.

It has been know to work for others but it is not a cure or at least I can't promise you the same results but I can direct you to a website were you can look it up and read some testimonies on it.

I have not heard of any natural medications, but my little brother has ADD/ADHD and the doctor suggested putting him in sports. Within a week or two we all noticed impressive results.

Why do you look at it as a problem and want to control them to be "your way" ? this is a sign of a highly intelligent child, whats your payoff in suppressing intelligence? sounds like your the one who needs to come to terms with what is. Go buy yourself a book called "How to teach your child how to think" encourage them dont suppress them ;)
