No it is no tillegal as long as he gets paid 1 1/2 times his regular hourly rate for anything over 40 hours. Go to your states Department of Industrial Relations website to find more info.

It is not illegal. At most it could be overtime. They do have to provide an unpaid 30 min. break, though.

Anything over 40 hours in a week must be paid overtime in a non-exempt (hourly) position. If your husband's boss is following that rule, he can have him work whenever. If your husband doesn't like it, he will have to find another job.

I copied this from my state's government internet site: Q. Can an company require their workers to paintings extra suitable than 8 hours an afternoon or extra suitable than 40 hours a week? A. There are actually not any Missouri rules which limit the form of hours an company can require an worker to paintings. If the worker refuses to paintings the asked hours, the corporate can terminate the worker without violating any rules. If the worker is roofed below state or federal further time regulation, (if the agencies' gross annual quantity sales made or business enterprise executed is extra suitable than $500,000), they are to be paid time and one a million/2 for any hours over 40 hours in a workweek. hmmm, i dont know about Nevada, but here in Cali, you have to get paid over time(hourly wage plus 1/2) for any hours over 8 in one day, or 40 in one week. So it's definately not illegal here, but like I said I don't know about Nevada. Hope that helps

No, it's not illegal as long as he gets paid for it. Employers must pay overtime either, per day (over 8 hours) or per pay period. As long as he is being paid, his boss is doing nothin illegal.

It's only illegal if they refuse to pay him overtime, which is usually 1.5 times his normal pay rate. However, they really can't FORCE him to work overtime. He can refuse and take legal action if he is fired for it.
