Unless you're an employer, why would you? Isn't that invasion of privacy?

There is no way to find ot if someone has a criminal record other than asking them out right. Places that deal with children or vunerable people use 'criminal records beauro checks' conducted by the police, to assertain if a person has a criminal record. If you wanted to be sneeky about it, you could go through their personal belongings or check things like their job application forms or appointments with probation officers are a sure sign of a criminal record or a very unloyal friend of theirs might tell you. Unfortunately, no one has a sign on their heads saying I am dangerous/a criminal, but even if they have been a criminal in the past it is ilegal to discriminate. Good luck!

Usually the county of their residence has a web site that can give you that information. Any one having a criminal record is not necessarily a criminal however. Speeding tickets are registed on such sites as judgements can be also. Having as much info about this person will speed the process, ie: Date of Birth, previous or current residence, etc. Best of luck in what you seek.

As a private individual you can't apply to see if anyone has a record.
If you are employing them you can ask them to apply themselves for a criminal names check - but it costs.
If you are just being nosey, and you think the conviction was recent then a bit of archive checking with the local newspaper might pay off........

Ask your friendly neighborhood police desk person. Im sure she or he will straighten that out for you. Look for their on line pages . Maybe you can ask this question on line too.
There are many commercial criminal records for a fee businesses that abound. Ask their opinion on those too.

In the UK use an organisation called Disclosure Scotland. But you'll have to get them to fill out the forms etc. and send a copy to you. So unless you are giving the person a job, and making it a condition of employment, they might not want to help you.

You can do a police check but there is a fee and the person in question will have to consent to it. Employers do them regularly especially for jobs such as teachers etc.

You can't. There is a simple, pisseasy way of expunging a crminal record, and it will defeat any efforts to get around it. I should know.

I'll leave it to your imagination.
