I got pregnant the first month I was off the pill. I had been on it for about 5 years. My sister had been on the pill about that long and it took her about 5 months to conceive. I don't know how long the hormones stay in your body, but they are hormones that are naturally in the female body. Its just the levels that are affected. I think it takes longer for some people to start ovulating, but not for everyone. Good luck.

No. Since you can get pregnant if you miss more than 2 pills in a cycle, you certainly won't have residual hormones in your system months later.
But the pill can mask any irregularities you might naturally have in your cycle. For example, on the pill, you always have a perfect 28-day cycle. But on your own, you might not be regular. You might not get a period every month. It might be a 30-day or a 26-day cycle. You know? You might have endometriosis or some other hormonal imbalance, and it can take a couple of months to get it all figured out.
That said, I took the pill for 12 years before my first pregnancy. And I conceived my first month off it. Then I breastfed for a little over a year (while taking minipills). I switched back to regular pills, then quit, and was pregnant again within a month of quitting.

It's differnt for everyone - I had been on the pill for (I HATE to admit this) ... for 17 years and the doctor told me I should try to have 3 regular periods before trying to conceive. We started ttc this month and I don't thinkk it was successful - too early to tell for sure now but I am questioning whether I calculated my ovulation date correctly.
Hope this helps.

I am on my second month with no bc and I think I might be pg. So I think it varries for everyone. I would stop taking the bc about two months before you want to start trying so you can see what your cycles are going to be like.

Almost a year and we started doing fertility treatments 8 months before we got pregnant. I'm sure you're a lot younger, though, so don't go by me.
