I could see why a person would want to fish in order to eat. However, I have always thought of fishing as a sport very cruel. Why subject the poor animals to to such pain and terror (which I am sure they feel) and then throw them back in the water. Imagine how it would feel if the same thing happened to you.

I don't think so. My Social Studies teacher says its good to fish because if the fish population were to grow, that wouldn't be good for the economy, so its good to fish.

I think it's okay, if you're going to eat them, but if you throw them back, that's just mean. They'll get huge gashes, then the gashed'll get infected from the unclean water.

Honestly, I am a big softie, so yes, it does bother me. I cannot stand to see any animal suffer; my whole family likes to fish, so I deal with it, though.
