Using a tampon for first time, spotting?

I am using a tampon for the first time and I am starting with the "regular" size. I noticed that even with the tampon in, I have some spotting?

That's normal. Switch to a heavy tampon and it should stop. It is generally best to use the heaviest tampon that fits your current flow. It will feel very uncomfortable at first, but you will adjust.

I have VERY heavy periods, so I use a super tampon and a pantyliner. If you are still spotting with a heavy one, do that.

use heavyer tampons then see if that works out..
