do i believe in it? yes. do i agree with it? no.

popularity and social classes in high school are entirely pointless and just make those who aren't 'cool' feel bad about themselves, while the 'popular' kids get to feel better about themselves by teasing and spreading rumors about the less cool kids. it's a bunch of b.s. and i'm so glad i'm done with that! don't worry, when you all go off to college, it all ends!!!!!!

My understanding of popularity is that is built on false pretenses. On who has the "best" hair, skirt, body, the most money. A way for those without friends to feel special, wanted, adored. Why do i say "without friends"? Because when I was in high-school (a few years ago) those who were "popular" were attacked behind their backs and sabotaged by those they called friends (which by definition is NOT a friend)- and hated or made fun of by the rest of the school for the exact reason that it was such a petty thing. I'd rather be surrounded by true friends no matter who or what they are than those who aren't friends to anyone. By high-school though (and definitely after it), most understand that popularity is just a faulty idea and people are not "files" to be "categorized"

What's to "believe in?" It's a real phenomenon.
