Without going into too much detail, you should check out the Wiki article on the history of the Manhattan Project. The nuke has very interesting a deep history...nuclear weapons as we know them were first developed by the Manhattan Project in New Mexico, and showcased by the "Trinity" detonation. Check out the Wiki Article for more info. If you like learning about things that go boom, check out the U.S. Navy's Tomahawk Land Attack Missile or the MOAB (Mother of All Bombs.)

The nuke was made by combining the letters n, u, k and e, although not necessarily in that order. The nuke is sometime used to incorrectly pronounce the word nuclear. Nukeular. President bush funded development of the nuke and his close friends and family often refer to his breath as such.

The nuclear bomb was the creation of the Manhattan Project. Once the basic scientific knowledge was unleashed with the atomic explosions, other countries got their own projects going. Different types of nuclear bombs created. There is the fission bomb (the early ones), fusion bombs (the hydrogen bomb) and the dirty bomb (little explosion and lots of radioactivity to kill people but let buildings and equipment stand).
