i read a study that said i's mostly middle children that prefer their friends to their family. I don't know if you're a middle child...
anyway it's perfectly natural: many people spend more time with their friends than their family and often the family consists of a group of people with different interests and life experiences even siblings can be very different from each other.
i trust my family more than my friends regardless of our differences but I think i'm lucky that way.

I would not say that I would trust a friend more than my family, but there are some times when only a friend will do. You may want to do something that you know would upset your family, so if you have the support of a friend it is really helpful. Trusting freinds that you do not see that much does not sound like the friend is perhaps a good enough friend to impart too much personal info on. Friends actually often know more about the way you and your mind works than your family. Good friends are hard to find, but if you have one then trust them.

Trust is a word that has been one of the words taken likely over the years as much as love has been. Trust requires an undeniable affection of some sort that is unspoken and earned. When a person becomes married most of the time that person becomes there partner. In life it's not so easy. Once again it will come down to how much of yourself are you willing to expose to someone else. And if you have the confidence in that person to carry a piece of you around without causing you any hurt because now you are exposed.

I'd be very careful what I divulged to a friend because if one day you fell out, that friend has more info than perhaps you'd want them to have.
Asking friends for advice is one thing but giving away personal & otherwise private information to anyone could rebound on you. I think once you've told someone else something then you've basically given them a free reign to tell anyone they like. If you want to keep something secret, then "Keep it"
How doe's that saying go?
"Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer"

Sometimes talking to your family can be very difficult because you don't know what they're going to say and they can be very judgemental and opinionated. I confide in my best friend and my boyfriend because those are the only two people that I can trust.

i have 5 really good friends that i`ve been in constant touch wiv for nearly 27 years. 4 guys and a girl. they`re more like my brothers and sisters than my real brothers and sisters. me and my friends have been through thick and thin together and have a close bond perhaps more than others. i`d be so lost wivout them. there would of been 6 of us but one died in 1990 from viral pneumonia. we miss him still so badly. i reckon i`m a pretty lucky guy to have these 5 mates. we trust each other wiv our lives. in contrast my real brothers and sisters are capable of sinking even lower than whale sh*te lol i wouldn`t trust them to sit the right way on a toilet! i`m going to have to stop talking about them, my left eye is starting to twitch!!!
