If I download a ringtone, or wallpaper, will it show up on my cell phone bill?

It will show up on your bill. It will most likely come up under additional/extra charges. I know this for a fact becouse I have done it. I think you may be able to download the song on line for 99 cents and pay with a credit card, then it would probably only show up on your credit card statement.

If you got the ringtone via SMS then you will be charged at least the SMS messaging fee, and (as others have said) most likely an additional fee for the ringtone itself.

If you have a GSM phone (Verizon & Sprint are CDMA so we're talking about Cingular, T-Mobile, and other GSM networks) in most cases the phone has the capability to transfer data from a PC. The CD that comes with the phone will usually have software on it that allows you to download a ringtone from your computer to the phone.

To avoid ringtone charges - assuming you have MP3 or MIDI files on your computer already - use a cable (or bluetooth or IrDa) conncetion to your computer to transfer the ringtone to the phone.

It depends upon the contract you have and if you downloaded the from your own service provider. If you paid with a credit card on-line from someone else, then no. If you downloaded from your own provider it shows up as exactally that on your bill...ringtones, game etc. Nextel/Sprint show on the bill, I had $15 in ringtones billed on my account and which line(phone number) downloaded them and they showed each one @ $2.50 each and the date it was downloaded.

Check online for sites that give you free ringtones. This way you don't have to pay extra. I also know that a few companies will sell prepaid cards to you for cell phone downloads, this way it doesn't come to a surprise to you or your parents/spouse/boy-girlfriend(if sharing plan) when the bill comes in and it is 20 bucks higher than usual.

Good luck...hope I helped.

If you've got the wallpaper or ringtone saved on your computer, you can email it to your phone and then it wouldn't show up on your bill. Call *611 from your cell and ask tech support what your phones email address is.

Yeah, if you used your phone to download them or even if you did it on the net they should show up on your phone bill. Thats how they bill you unless you pay for it some other way

It depends on where you download it from. If you download from your providers service it will almost definately show. There are a lot of membership sites that have you send a text for "free ringers" and then you are placed intoa subscription for that company. and there are some truly free sites but the quality and selection isn't always there. I use www.3gforfree.com and www.funformobile.com
