CDs
DVDs
DVD player
TV
VCR/DVD player
Nintendo Wii
Xbox 360
PS3
PSP
Gameboy Advance or SP or DS
Socks and Underwear (corny yes but I have always loved new skivvies)
Cingular go phone
retro band shirts (Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd AC/DC etc...)
jeans.
If he's on the big side or you're concerned he's not getting enough exercise you can get him a gym membership or pay for 6 months of Karate lessons or get him a baseball mitt and ball and have "Santa" get you a mitt so you can play catch with him everyday.
If he's artsy you can get him an oil paint set or femo or a sketch book and pencils.
If he's into video games you could get him Tom Clancy Rainbow Six Vegas which is going to be hot.
If he's smart and competitive Trivial Pursuit is always good. Millennium and 90s editions are great (I have them both and Star Wars edition).
Blank CDs
Blank DVDs
Photoshop or Photoshop elements (for the artistically inclined)
Worlds of Warcraft (online massively multiplayer roleplaying game)
A 3-year $50 Certificate of Deposit (teaches saving and patience)
The Bible (if he's even quasi religious you can get him his own and have it personalized in caligraphy in the first few pages. Or the Torah or the Koran or whatever other holy book like maybe the Baghavad Gita or the Tao de Ching or the I Ching.
Book The Art of War by Sun Tzu (teaches you a lot even though it was written over 2200 years ago).
An encyclopedia set.
A subscription to Rolling Stone or Maxim, or FHM or Stuff or Giant
Magic the gathering starter kit or if he already plays some booster packs or Pokemon or Yu Gi Oh or whatever he might play (they're trading card games).
A boxed set of CDs from his favorite band.
A gun (yes I know what you're going to say). The gun should come with a safety lock, safety equipment such as eyewear, earwear etc. Get him a .22 calibre rifle and find a shooting range where he can learn how to properly handle a gun. Kids who have knowledge about guns are less likely to have accidents with them or use them for violent purposes.

Since this is a new house, maybe something related to the theme of "New" or "First Time." Think of things that the both of you had done in the past that would remind each other of the first time you two did... anything. First date, first kiss, first time he slept over and vice versa. e.g. CD of a song that was playing during your first kiss. Maybe you could even just buy a new sexy lingerie, guys usually loves that. I know I do! Hope this helps!

Find out what are his hobbies? For example does he like to play on the computer all the time or does he like to play video games or does he like to read? or does he like to watch sports? or any other hobby he might like. From that you might have an idea on to what to get him.

most 15 year old in this day and age have a cell phone. maybe consider in getting one if he does not have one.

goodluck..

I would buy him gift cards for places like Walmart, Target, etc. It's not cash that will certainly just get blown (all kids do) but it gives him the freedom to choose what he wants.
