I was planning on stopping work a week before my due date, but I am starting to think maybe I should stop two weeks before. When have you stopped working during pregnancy, and how'd that work for you? A little background I am working full time, and going to school, and recently started teaching piano lessons. I am starting to feel a little overwhelmed. The baby's room is not ready. My feet have started swelling like balloons, and I am exhausted. That is why I am thinking of quitting a week earlier. I am not going back to work, so another week would be another weeks income so that's why I am considering sticking it through. As you can see I am just not sure what to do.

If you want some suggestions, I say leave work 6 weeks before your due date. During this time you can relax your body and mind and prepare for birthing, get last minute things together, maybe even finish up baby's room.
I was going to take time off the day before my due date and it wasnt enough time, my son came early and I wasnt ready, nothing was finished, so i say get things ready and give yourself a break, youre going to need it....wont get another one until baby is 18 yrs old, good luck

I am a mother of two. For my first child I was in high school so I did not work. I did leave school the week before I had my daughter. For my second child, I was working full time. I left two weeks before because I had to do a little finalizing of the room and get a little more organized. I also stopped because I could not do that work anymore because my feet were starting to swell up (they swelled up two more sizes). If you are still unsure, talk to your doctor. He may just say "If you would be more comfortable, then do it". Having that extra week off could really help keep the stress down too. It is definitely not good to be stressed while pregnant. I would recommend to take an extra weed off.

while a woman stops working after marriage that's usually simply by fact she had a newborn. some females experience the prefer or elect to return to artwork 8-12 weeks after having a newborn. some elect to attend an entire 300 and sixty 5 days (the stated length of time to breastfeed a newborn). some elect -with the blessing of their husbands- to be stay at living house mothers on a similar time as their toddlers are toddlers or maybe all the way with the aid of college-age. Very very few lady only thoroughly provide up working after their married - usually they're married to men who relish spoiling their different halves and have the $$$ to realize this. it definitely relies upon on each and each lady and the couple's dynamic.

With my first I worked up until I started having sporatic contractions (like 3 days before).
With my second I took off a week before my scheduled c-section date.. but I was commuting out of state for work.
I say you should do it whenever you feel like you need to.. the important part is you are well rested and ready for the baby.

One time I worked up until delivery, that was no fun. The other time I quit a couple months before, and it was SO nice to have time to relax, and get things ready. The money will work itself out, give yourself a break and quit as early as you want to- it's worth it.

i thought the same thing and was tired too. you have to think there is no guarantee when the baby will be born, it could be a week or 3 weeks i left work 2 weeks early so i could rest and finish babys room, and just overall enjoy my last time by myself!!
i think its worth it, your in home stretch and what will one more week do for ya? you should be able to start collected disability
( your doctor will give you the paperwork) get it sent in and wait for baby!!
congrats!! and happy holidays!

A week's worth of income is not worth your and your baby's health. You have waaaay tooo much going on and you need to slow down. Exhaustion and swollen feet are your body's way of telling you to take a break. Talk to your doctor and take care of yourself. Good Luck!

I worked up to the day before I delivered. It all depends on the person. If you are feeling really tired, maybe it is time to slow down. Cut your hours if you are not ready to stop completely.

Stop as soon as possible. Give yourself time to get ready. You never know when you'll deliver for sure. Take plenty of time to relax and enjoy.

If you can afford to stop now then do that so you can have some time to yourself before the baby is here. ( trust me you will need it) Also to relax for you and the baby!!!!
