I'm 17 years old and I live in Kissimme, FL. I want to go to the doctor, but I dont want my mom to know that I'm going. Does anyone know of a doctor that I can go to by myself in Kissimmee, FL?

It depends on why you need a dr. Most states allow minors to seek medical care without parents permission for abuse, venereal diseases, and pregnancy.

You really need to be more specific in your question. Why do you need to see a doctor? Why don't you want your mom to know?

I'm going to assume you want birth control, think you're pregnant, or think you might have an STD. For these issues, you can go to Planned Parenthood.
http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

Just because you can go without your mom, however, doesn't mean that you should. Unless you're seriously concerned about your safety--that is, your mom has a history of abusing you--you really should talk to her. If you're worried she'll be mad or disappointed... well, she probably will be. But that's a small problem compared to what you may be facing with a pregnancy, disease, or making important decisions that can lead to either of the above. Parents are there to help and guide you, even through difficult times and mistakes. Give her a chance--that's the adult thing to do, rather than sneaking around behind her back.

By the way, money is another factor you need to consider. Planned Parenthood charges on a sliding scale basis, according to your ability to pay. If you think you're going to go to go to a private doctor and pay for it yourself, I can almost guarantee you it's going to be more than you have. That's another reason to go with your mother.

If it's related to reproductive health, you can go to planned parenthood. I've been going there, without a parent, since I was 14 (I'm now 30, so I suppose the rules could have changed, but I really don't think so.) I started the pill when I was around 16, again, without parental notification.

What kind of doctor are you talking about? And your mother doesn't have to know---they can't tell her. Here is a family practice. They'd be able to see you for anything from colds and flu to pap smears, etc.

Your reproductive health is private - even from your mom. You can go to any doctor for this. Try a family planning clinic, they are usually very inexpensive/free and very private. Take a look at the link below. Good luck to you.

Planned Parenthood for "female issues".
Your local Heath Department for a regular doctor.

Again if you don't even feel comfortable telling your mother you need to go to the doctor. How would you feel telling her you are pregnant and talked your boyfriend into it. Having a baby will not solve your problems.

i'm a nurse and everywhere i've worked, anyone under 18 has to be accompanied by a parent. i think it's really sad that you don't feel like you can go to your parents with whatever is bothering you.

you really should trust your mom....Don't try to handle anything on your own, you're too young. Talk to your mom or maybe an aunt that's 24 or older
