Depends on your family. If your family is a messed up bunch of disfuctional people that constantly make your life a living He11, then I'd say good friends.
But - if your family is a nice family, they should come first as someday most of those friends will be off with their families and you will be alone. A good family will always be there for you - even if they drive you nuts sometimes.

Friends and Family are both good but blood is thicker than water in my book. It depends I guess on the situation though. If you aren't close to your family then friends might be better.

We need both. Friends serve a purpose to us and so does our family. I believe the relationships are both equally important, just on a different level.
