My daughter is 8 months. Her hair is really fine and curly. ISo you get a good picture lots of people think she's Black and Hispanic. t's about 5 or 6 inches long. I usually put it in 2 or 3 ponytails but apparently I have been pulling them too tight and it's falling out around the front. I use hair dress like I should and wash every 4 days because it gets dirty quickly. When she wears it down it gets really tangled and I hate to comb it out because her scalp is so tender. Today I just let her wear it curly with a head band to keep it from being pulled but I don't want it to get tangled. NOT NAPPY TANGLED. What should I do to let it breath? I don't like heavy grease and things in our hair because it doesn't require that type of thing. I usually wet it but its too cold. Any suggestions from people that have experience with this type of hair? Reminder it's not "regular Black people hair". She won't ever need a perm. Are there any kinds of special bands I could use and where can I buy it?

I don't know how to braid. I'm black so our hair doesn't make it's own oil to moisturize it that's why we use hairdress and/or grease. Other wise her hair will break off more all over and she will have dry scalp. I don't ask her pedi because she's Filipino. Each hair texture is different. I use a detangler but what about as she rolls around at the sitters and plays all day? Her hair will be terrible. What could I do to make it curly besides wetting it because it's so cold out? Once again PLEASE ONLY ANSWER IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS TYPE OF HAIR. Understand we are not all born with the same kind of hair.

I have 3 kids who are black/mexican. I know exactly what you are going through. When they were babies I used Johnsons baby lotion on their hair. It makes it easier to comb and it's not greasy at all. Plus it smells good. You an also spray a little detangling spray on her hair just before you comb it. You can use it every single day if you need to.

Your baby's hair is delicate, so when you do ponytails make sure they're not too tight and brush the front of her hair downward (like baby hair) because that is the most delicate part. The best thing is to just let it be natural and curly. Try not to use ponytails until weekends or when it's time to dress up. Don't use rubber bands. Use cloth covered bands so they won't pull the hair.

beneficial it could good be prevalent . the standard person looses between 60-one hundred hairs from their head an afternoon. If she has extremely long hair (like I do wavy and to my shrink back) she probably would not brush it a stable purchase interior the direction of the day or keeps it up. Washing loosens it and that i'm getting a 20 hairs or so as quickly as I wash. If she has distinctive warning indicators like being extremely drained each and all of the time, having a no longer common time loosing weight, no longer able to concentration or submit to in suggestions subjects and uninteresting pores and skin it could good be an illustration of Hypo Thyroidism. an consumer-friendly blood attempt can diagnose this and must be dealt with with drugs.

Most babies DO lose hair - as they grow their hair changes as well (from that soft "down" they're born with and have their first year or so, to "normal" hair). The headband thing sounds like a good idea, since it doesn't pull like putting it into ponytails does; have you tried those detangling products made especially for children? You can spray those on every day which will help with the tangles. Also, if you spray WARM tap water on her hair it won't be as uncomfortable as cold water on her head. (I have three boys with VERY curly hair - and as they've grown older they have wanted to grow it out, YIKES! the pain! ) She sounds like a very patient baby to go through all of this, bless her heart!

I believe she is like most chidren at that age, they do loose some hair from moving around and the hair ties should be kept to a minimal. I would try to use a hair detangler on her hair. I would stay clear of the hair ties that were not enclosed. Like the rubber bands, they are for sure to pull hair out. Find a tie that is enclosed in some soft material, and with no metal fasteners on them, and maybe even some clips instead. Good Luck.

Why would you use hair dressing and grease on a baby's hair? If you put all that stuff on her hair it would need to be washed more frequently. Buy some Johnson's No More Tangles and use that after you shampoo. It DOES work, and it sure seeems like it would be healthier for an infant to use than grease and other such things.

To give her hair a break from the ponytails, you could try plats, braids, or little twists.

Also, don't make the ponytails too tight.

it is natural for a babys hair to fall out.. its nothing to be alarmed about.. its just like our hair.. mine tends to fall out every now and then.. same as an animal right.. rubberbands will make the hair weaken when using them.. but its ok though to use them.
