I had unplanned unprotected sex with my young, fit man a few weeks ago.
We didnt use protection as it was a one-off, raw spontaneous event.
I didnt take the morning after pill.

I have since come on my period.

Why did i not fall pregnant?
Both of us are young and healthy.

Getting pregnant takes more than one night of passion. There is really only a 24 hour window during your entire monthly cycle where you can get pregnant. Your egg takes about 10-14 days, (follicular phase), to ripen. After the 14 days, it opens much like you would crack an egg, and is able to be fertilized if sperm is present. After 12-24 hours, the eggs dies and slowly deteriorates. It takes another 14 days before your body is signaled by the dead egg to shed the lining in your uterus (the luteal phase) At this point, you start over.

You can go online for an ovulation chart and see what days are best to have intercourse. Sperm can live up to 7 days in your body, but it depends on how close you are to ovulation.. (when the egg opens). If you are not near ovulation, the sperm will die within 24-72 hours of being in you. Best course of action:

Go to an ovulation charting website.. just plug it into google.com. Input your data, on days where it says you are fertile, have unprotected sex.Take your vitamins now and also drink plenty of orange juice. Avoid drinking, drugs, etc and wait until you are due for your period to test.

There is only a 25% chance, that when timed exactly right, that the pregnancy will take hold. Research it, plan it, and wait for it.

Woman will not become pregnant with a single sex always. It must be during ovulation time. The days from 8 to 14 after starting of the period more chance.Whether you are sexually fit to conceive has to be investigated only after sex for six monthsv to one year. The reasons for non pregnancy may be ovulation problem, uterus problems, male sperms immoblie or insfficient sperm count etc.You wait and do sexperiment for an year or so and thereafter you see a doctor.I think nothing is wrong with you and with a few more chances you can conceive.

It is very difficult to get pregnant. You ovuate around the middle of your cycle and the egg is only viable for 12-24 hours. You ae naturally infertile pretty much the whole of the rest of the time. Around the time you ovulate your mucus will become stretchy like egg white. Sperm can survive for a maximum of 5 days in thie most fertile mucus.

You should probably read a bit more about the whole ovulation process: your body does not always have eggs ready for fertilization but rather you have to look at where you are in your monthly menstruation cycle. Even fertile couples only have about a 1 in four chance of conception. People who are able to conceive easily still usually take about three months of "trying".

You're going to think this is rude because you can't show your tone of voice when typing. I don't mean this nastily but here's my opinion and advice about your question:

You don't know the first thing about getting pregnant. If you want a baby you should learn more about trying to conceive first then it won't be a shock when even maybe your second, third or even fourth attempt at spontaneous, so-so or even boring sex hasn't gotten you preggers yet.

You don't always get pregnant when you have unprotected sex. If you weren't ovulating than you can't release an egg for it to get fertilized. If you get an ovulation kit you will be able to find out when the best time for you to get pregnant would be because it tells you exactly when you are ovulating.

You must not have been at the right place in your cycle. The chances of getting pregnant are the best when you have just ovulated. (about halfway between your periods) Too early and the little swimmers die...too late and the fertilized egg can't implant and stay viable.

Well for the OBVIOUS reason...your weren't ovulating. If you are not ovulating you can have sex as many times, anywhere, anyway you want and it won't matter. Doesn't sound like you are quite mature enough for kids yet.

You probably were not ovulating, you can get pregnant at any time during the month, but it isn't likely. Getting pregnant is much more likely if you are ovulating.

It may be that you weren't in your fertile period when you had your night of passion, Some people try for years to get pregnant! so dont worry when you dont fall pregnant the first time you try!
