it is possible, but incredibly stupid. michigan had their chance, but they fell a little short.
if michigan and ohio state have a rematch for the national championship, and if michigan wins, would it be fair to ohio state? ohio state already beat michigan. why should they have to beat them again? if they have a rematch, it would have to be a two-out-of-three situation to really crown a winner (but we all know that can't happen)
i believe michigan is truly the #2 team right now. but if USC could win-out, they deserve a shot at the national championship. the BCS is just too crazy of a system.

It could and it definitely should. The BCS was supposedly set up to match the #1 team with the #2 team in the country. I am an alumnus of OSU and I am here to tell you that Michigan is the second best team in the country regardless of what USC, Florida, or any other team does including Notre Dame. Michigan spanked ND, Oregon State beat USC and Florida couldn't beat OSU if we sent in the scrubinis. Michigan lost by three points in a very high scoring game against the best team in the country. The game was the best college game played in years. Any other match up will just be some team being fed to Buckeyes for what will surely be a slaughter and an anti-climatic game to the OSU-Michigan game played last week.
Signed,
I still hate Michigan!

Could they? Yes. Should they? No. They did have their chance, and even though it was a great game, they lost. It all boils down to what USC will do. If they beat Notre Dame next week, they are probably going to jump past Michigan for a shot an Ohio State. Although, the way Ohio State has been playing, it might be more of a question of who wants second place.

When it comes down to it, the two best teams should play for the National Championship. That is very subjective. But I think the other team is Michigan. For whatever its worth I believe the National Champion of this sesason is Ohio St. already. All the other games this weekend, Championship week, and New Years are all consolations. They should just crown the only deserving undefeated team left - OSU. The reason for this is all one loss teams that have won championships in the past have a imaginary asterisk (well, but, maybe). If youve watched college ball long enough you know only undefeated teams deserve to be called the National Champion.

I am a true blue lifelong Michigan fan. I believe even Bo would say..."Let's worry about a rematch next year at the Big House. This is a special game every year (not like Rutgers who plays good once say every 40 yrs.)
I agree that OSU is the best team this year and we welcome Troy Smith to join the Lions next year. He surely impressed me all year and deserves the Heisman. We also should tip our hat to Jim Tressel. He showed real class in the light of Bo's passing and good sportsmanship after the game. I live in FL and we have to endure ******* from Miami and FL State. Did I mention Mike Bianchi, the bald headed Florida Mark who writes for the Orlando Slantinel?
LIONS are Number 1 Baby (in the draft pick)

I've been a Michigan fan most of my 51 years. I would LOVE to have Michigan play OSU again, but in all fairness, OSU won and unless USC and Florida lose again, one of them should play for the National Title. Notre Dame sucks and shouldn't even be considered in the equation. Michigan slapped them around earlier in the year, so if it was between Michigan and ND playing for the National title, I think Michigan should play.
If I were Michigan, and I had beaten OSU, I would tell say that I beat you once already and pick the number 3 team as playing for the National title. As I say, unless Florida and USC lose again, Michigan has no realistic shot. Sorry, Wolverine fans!!!! M Go Blue anyway, darnit!

Non-conference schedules? Like OSU playing Texas and Michigan Notre Dame? Yeah, those are real cupcakes there, LOL. Anyway, I wouldn't mind seeing the rematch--they certainly look like the two best teams to me. If USC wins out, something that is by no means a given, they deserve a shot, and if Florida still has only one loss by the time the Fiesta Bowl comes around so would they. Michigan should get the nod over ND if they prevail over the Trojans, though, because of how Michigan beat the Irish.

It's possible, but no one I know wants to see a rematch. OSU beat Michigan fair and square. What we do look forward to is the rematch at The Big House this time next year! The Michigan/OSU rivalry is one of the best match-ups no matter what our overall standing is. Every year it's a GREAT game played by two GREAT college football teams!! GO BLUE!!!

Yes, they should play again, BUT only if USC loses to ND or any other team this year. Michigan should not play ND again and Rutgers and Florida are not good enough to be in the National Championship. So.... IF USC loses then MI should be in. Plus, USC plays CRAP teams anyway, but I would be ok with them going.
It would be soooo awesome to have MICHIGAN win the National Championship over OSU AFTER losing to them! We would never hear the end of it.
GO BLUE!

Yes.
But, if USC runs the table, it should edge them into the #2 slot, based on strength of schedule.
Both OSU and Michigan really need to take a hard look at their non-conference schedule, and quit beating up on Tony's House of Diplomas and prison teams.
You can bet for ratings, the networks would rather see USC.
It does seem unfair that OSU would have to beat their archrival twice to win the National title, but if Michigan goes 1-1 against OSU, they get all the marbles.
