There was this young lady in my supermarket who I am always polite to, because she is polite to me back. Yesterday she gave me her number, it turns out that she has a crush on me. Since she is a very nice young lady I told her sorry I did not swing that way and had no intention to. What would you of done in this similar situation. If she were mean I probably would of told her off in a mean way.

You seemed to have handled it just fine. No reason to be mean. I'm straight and have had several females hit on me (or ask me to try) before and I would do the same thing. There was a time me and a female friend would pretend to be together if a guy we weren't interested in hit on us. It was funny at the time but probably wrong. I'd say don't be surprised, but be honest, clear, and nice. Don't be mean. Put yourself in thier shoes and treat others the way you want to be treated.

I've been mistaken for being gay a few times. Some of the more memorable ones happned at a bookstore where these guys came up to me and told me I looked familiar and said if I were open minded I could find a job with them. This happened twice. I told them thank you, but no I was straight and taken. Another time my brother and I were walking out of Waldenbooks when this truck three guys in it said "Why don't you "homo's get a room" so...we had to go confront and fight those guys. So yeah, those are my stories. I think you handled yours excellently. If the person is considerate and nice no reason to be mean to them. They are just trying to get a date. Good for you for being tolerant.

sure. i'm in the present day yet i'm getting asked if i'm a lesbian (by utilising in the present day and gay human beings) probable a minimum of as quickly as a week. i be attentive to it extremely is because of the fact I on no account positioned on skirts or makeup. I on no account use a handbag and that i've got short hair. yet i'm used to it now, so i attempt to snicker it off rather of having disillusioned. One time, i substitute into strolling out of my class and that i waved to a pal. day after on the instant, my pal advised me some female asked him the day before today if i substitute right into a boy or a woman. That harm me. I propose, I continually thought I regarded like a woman. no person had ever puzzled my gender in the past. my suggestion, do no longer take something heavily. only locate your very own inner peace. in case you're only gonna pay interest to different peoples' ideas, then there is not any component of having your very own ideas is there? additionally, in case you end being concerned approximately something, then that something can on no account harm you. indifference = invincibility.

I was mistaken as a lesbian on a couple of occasions, its not like I look like I am a lesbian or go to gay bars but some of my girlfriends are so touchy filly that sometimes people think we are all gay. But what is weird is I am not a lesbian nor gay but would like to try it once just for experience purposes but I am sure they can't tell by that because most woman who like woman, don't look like it so I think this was just a simple mistake and you handled it perfectly.

I have been mistaken for being gay a couple of times when I wuz in 6th grade. I don't look gay or anything, but this b*tch spread a rumor about me and her saying that we were lesbians.

People would come up to me and ask were we gay! I got really pissed when my boyfriend asked me. How did I get back at her??

I spread a rumor about the b*tch, too.

I'd probably react the same way you did if that ever happend. I mean, obviously you wouldn't go "oh I'm flattered, sure I'll go out with you even though we don't play for the same team" I think you did what any good natured person would have done.

Well, if you were nice about it, then you did fine. She may not have thought you were a lesbian, but just didn't know. She took a chance that you might be interested.
I don't get mistaken as a lesbian mainly because I AM a lesbian. lol. :)

a polite response like yours is just fine.

Being a male, I certainly prefer to hear an bitter-but-honest reply from women, rather than the endless string "not right now" excuses.
