and delhi! i think it is very famous for it's historical monuments. qutb minar, purana quila, red fort, mughal garden are a few of them and the list is endless. the view of india gate at night is superb. if u are into shopping then it is a virtual paradise for u. check out the antiques and other craft items available at incredibly low prices. u can buy great stuffs from famous market of CHANDNI CHOWK. but it is a bit crowded so delhi haat would be a better option but the variety and prices won't be the same. now a days indian international trade fair is also going on at pragati maidan in delhi till 28th of november so hurry up, it's not a thing to be missed. it is a miniature india as it has got stalls from every state of india and some neighbour countries so it would be a tour of whole india. u can mail me for more information at garvit.pareek@yahoo.com. i live in delhi.

you could find bargins anywhere in India, when i went, i stay in the state known as Punjab. In the city Jalandhar, they have a lot of outdoor small shops. Perfect for small things for jewerly...as for clothes, stick with indoor shops...once in Jalandhar, ask the bike drivers to take you to Modeltown because you can find american style clothes at cheap prices...like the Gap store and Nike store...although this is India, these stores are pretty nice. So stick to small outdoor markets for small jewerly things (there is a good one by the Golden Temple) and big indoor stores for clothes.
