I Turn 40 on Wednesday. No big deal. It is only a number. I do not feel any older now than I did 20 years ago. Seriously. My body feels older but my mindset isn't. Please don't take it so hard. It is just another birthday. Eat cake and be happy.

Make sure all your party guests are 40 or older!

Take a look at yourself and see if you are happy. Do you like the way you look? Do you have a job you enjoy? Is there a hobby you have always wanted to take up but never have?

On your birthday take the day off and go get a new hair cut and color, get your nails done and go out shopping for a trendy outfit.

And remember it really isn't the number of candles on your cake it is how you feel inside and how you dress and act.

If you dress and act "old" you will feel that way.

It's just a number! I don't understand people getting upset about it. You feel the same way as you did the day you turned 39 so what's the difference. I've seen too many people freak out over this.

30 was harder than 40 - went away for the weekend (my choice) with my husband (he is now my ex), but we had a great time. it was nice to get thru dinner/drinks without being interrupted by the kids, also uninhibited sex was good too, without worrying about the kids hearing. now i'm almost 50 & i just dumped him & try not to think about the b-days anymore - just happy to still be here celebrating them.

I'm not 40, but I hope you live life to the fullest. Don't worry about age, Jana. You're only as old (or young) as you feel. Be happy with yourself and it'll all be good.♥

I am happy to be 40... its simply a number.

I guess being happy with myself has alot to do with it... age means nothing to me except pushes me harder to save for retirement.

I consider the alternative to having a birthday... IF you don't have a birthday then you are obviously DEAD. I love life way to much to concern myself with a number that others put soooooooooo much emphasis on.

Be happy you have another birthday for many do not get the privilege of seeing another day!!
Only you can make yourself happy so CHOOSE to be!

Happy Monday !

I didn't have a problem with it. We are only as old as we feel. 40 is not the end of the world!

You have to look at it for what it really is...just another day. I'm sorry you're having a rough time with it. Oh, just to let you know, I'm 46.
