I had my son circumsized because I saw my father, who was uncircumsized with many infections when he got older. I didn't want to risk my son having to go through the same things. It was very difficult for my father and very painful time in his life.

These are two different things entirely you are comparing. However, I am the mother of four sons, and all four were circumcised at a very young age. They were put under antistatic to have the procedure completed. Reasons are it is much healthier for them as they grow into men. My grandfather had to have this procedure done at the age of 79, it was a horrible thing for him to endure. There are many pros to getting a male circumcised. Do some research on both topics and make an educated and informed question to post here. God bless****

Circumcision is your decision alone. You will hear horror stories on both sides. The difference is that one will have more skin than the other, and the one with the more skin will be more sensitive.
I'm the mother of two handsome boys, 15 & 18, uncircumcised, and they have NEVER had any problems with infection or anything like that. If a person doesn't keep theirselves clean and sanitary, infections will form no matter what.

I had my son circumcised. Mainly it was because it is something done to all of the fellas in my family, so it just seemed to be what i was *supposed* to do. I had them do the type of procedure where they aren't so brutal and didn't remove it as far back as they used to do. I also thought that it would be more comfortable and easier to clean. Now that you have me thinking this over, I guess I should have left the decision up to him. I'll ask him tomorrow when he visits for dinner, lol. But I was only thinking of him, trust me. I love my son more than life and only wanted to make the right decisions for him. Now i'm all bumbed out...

Ps, I just read Rain's post. Although I agree with her 100 percent about her rights being violated, she shouldnt make her son feel *mutilated* for heaven's sake. Sure could mess with his selfesteem talking like that. Just my take on it.

NO! My two oldest are intact, my youngest was circumsized without my consent or knowledge and against my expressed wishes. The hardest thing I've ever had to do as a Mom was explain to him why some great man who thought MD stood for GOD felt he had a right to mutilate his penis, when he got old enough to realize he was different from his brothers.
Even after all these years, just seeing the word circumcision hurts.

I had both of my sons circumsized because I watched my nephews struggle with many infections because they could not keep that piece of skin clean. She ended up getting her boys cirucumsized at the age of 4.
I was told that the nerve cells in babies aren't as sensitive as they are as children grow. So, I got my boys taken care of early so they wouldn't have to deal with infections as well as taking care of it later.

I did and at the time the doctor told me it would be healthier for him. The chances for infection were supposed to have decreased tremendously. I was later informed it didn't matter either way so I waited outside of the room where they circumcised my son dying inside as I heard his screams for no reason. I can tell you if I had known otherwise at the time I would never have done so.

What an odd question. I would never do that to my son. My Mom had it done to my 3 brothers but that was the way the hospital did it then.

As a WIFE, I chose to have our son circumcised for the benefit of my future daughter-in-law. Trust me, circumcised guys have happier wives and girlfriends! An uncircumcised guy better be ultra hygenic otherwise he could face odor and infection. There's also the biblical reasons to circumcise..............
