Yellow is bad, bad, bad. It makes me looked washed out and is very unflattering.

Every person has a specific coloring, and each has specific clothing colors that are the best and worst for them. Warm or cool, and then there are two divisions for each coloring that take their name from the seasons.
I am a warm, a Spring to be exact. I don't look good in black or white, so I don't wear them as an outfit or in a dress. I keep them away from my face, or under something else in a color that does complement me. I also don't wear orange, which is actually a good color on me, because I just don't like the color.
Wearing the wrong colors can do many bad things to a person's appearance, like making them appear older and/or heavier than what they actually are. So you learn what your coloring is, and which colors you can wear to complement it the best. Part of knowing what colors to avoid come from experience of trial and error, and some of it comes from education about knowing how to match your clothing to your coloring. And body type, but that's a whole other topic :-)

Anything that is too bright. I'm mousy, and if I wear brights I think they make me seem like a brassy personality. Maybe I am a brassy personality, though, and I just avoid the colors that exacerbate the impression I make. lawl.
I honestly don't think anyone looks good in hot pink or dayglo. Those colors are too self-conscious, and they make you come off as superficial.

I will wear most any color except yellow.
I love wearing black, red, purple, pink, and blue...and okay with most other colors. But not yellow, and not too big a fan of orange either.

Pretty much any shade of yellow. I am fair skinned with kind of dirty dishwater blonde hair (when natural LOL) and yellows are just awful on me. My grandma knit me a yellow sweater one year for Christmas and I felt terrible that she did all of that work and I just could not wear it. That is when I realized I am not a good candidate for yellow.

Gray. It's a plain boring ugly color that no one looks good in.
