Yes any foreign object could potentially damage your insides. Just use adequate amounts of lube and you should be fine.

Yes and no. Yes if they are used and cleaned properly. They can tear your insides if they are dry so use water based lube as that is best for your body. You also need to clean them before and after use. Use an antibacterial soap like dish soap. Also, always use toys that are made of rubber, plastic, pyrex glass etc, material that is none porous. There are certain beaded toys out there that the stings on them are made out of cloth and they hold bacteria in them even if you wash them in a washing machine making them not safe.

I don't think they are safe. There was an article that appeared recently about how sex toys can be less safe than the material used in children's toys because they have not been tested as well (if at all) for harmful chemicals. See links below:

Yes. Sex toys are safe. Just try to be netural every once in a while to give the vaginal wall a little rest, even though it isn't becoming damaged.

Manufacturers try to make them as safe as possible.
However, every user and toy is different. Always use care when using the toy. Be sure to thoroughly wash it before and after each use. Don't share them. And don't get overly crazy with it.

Also clean the toy after always and keep it in a safe place way from dust and stuff

Yes, they're safe, but it's best to use a condom with them for hygiene. Especially if it's really rubber instead of silicone, as that's more porous and harder to clean. And of course use lube.

Edit: believe it or not, I actually found this on about.com:

I don't think so.of course size and rhythm could be a factor.things could get a little raw after extended use.

just stay away from the ones that plug into the wall for use in the tub.

Unless your allergic to rubber, it shouldn't do anything. Try using a gel toy.!!!!

If it doesn't hurt, and you're not having any allergic reactions, it's fine. Use plenty of lube, keep them clean, and have a good time.
