I can name two very good books that I personally loved.
1. Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom
It gave me a whole new perspective on life and death and what really matters throughout everything we experience.
2. I Am the Messenger by Markus Zusak
It's just one of those books where after you finish reading it, you feel like you can change the world and really live to the fullest.
Have fun!

You need to decide what genre you like such as mysteries, true crime, detective, science fiction, historical, biographies, etc. Once you know of a genre, talk to the librarian or do a search on the computers provided at most libraries. Perhaps go to Amazon.com and check out book titles then create a list to bring to the library or the book store. HTH,

Check out anything by Chuck Palahniuk. The only book of his that I haven't loved is Haunted. You might also look into Douglas Adams. His stories don't usually have much plot, but they're extremely entertaining. If you like Monty Python, chances are you'd like Douglas Adams. He worked with most of the members of Monty Python at one point or another.

I loved A Tree Grows In Brooklyn! I have also read all of Gibran's works, he is great! I've also read all of Robert Waller's books, they are light romance, deals with more of the longings and hurts in life.

How about suspense novels? I've read Stephen White and
Dwight Allen novels recently that were pretty good.
