Personally I believe old enough for legal responsibilities-old enough for booze. I'd like to know what other people think.

At 18 you believe you are responsible enough for alcohol, but at the same time there is also a 16 yrs old and a 12yrs old who believe the same thing. The truth about being young is your so stupid you believe you can do anything. The drinking age is 21 because thats the age when "MOST" people have matured enough to realise the negative effects of alcohol and they are old enough to be able to handle the responsibility. For every 1 responsible 18 yr old you can find 12 irresponsible ones. The older you are the better the odds.

The age should be lowered to 18 because look at all of the European countries that have no drinking age or if they do it's like 16 or lower, and its not like those countries are being destroyed by hell raising drunk teens theres no need for a drinking age of 21.

From a purely ethical standpoint yes, at 18 you are considered legally responsible for yourself.

From a practical standpoint no, the number of 18 - 21 year olds is more than current resources could deal with

Either do that or raise everything else to 21.

It's ridiculous that you can DIE for your country at 18 but can't have a drink.

What's funny with that is in the military you are subject to local laws so you should see the kids drink when they are deployed overseas!

I agree with the majority of these people as far as, if your old enough to fight for this country, by god your old enough to drink to uncle SAM. not the voting part though. at 18 a person hasn't experienced filing taxes and paying property tax and political b.s. enough to know about or whom to vote for. I think they need to make the minimum age to vote to 25.

18 is barely old enough for "legal responsibilities" never mind liquor. So no, I do no support lowering the drinking age. Seems to me that there are way too many teens already drinking and causing trouble. Why add to the mix? And yes, once again, the corrupt few ruin it for all.

When I was a kid, the drinking age was 18. I know the stuff I pulled when I was 18, and I should have never been allowed to drink and to drive a car.

So now that I'm "old" I have to err on the side of caution. Drinking age should remain at 21. Sorry :-(

I believe if your old enough to die for your country, you should be old enough to drink. I'm 40.

If you are in the Military, then yes, on base but otherwise, there are enough 21 year olds with alcohol problems as it is. I really can't be in favour of it for that reason alone

If you're old enough to die for oil profits, it's the least the government can do.
