Anything I can help sooth my back? I've heard ice pack, warm shower, heating pad, tylenol. What about when I am sleeping? Like pillows or what? I don't want to strain my back. Thanks for your input. :)

Sleep on your side with pillows between your knees so that your hips are well aligned. Contrary to popular belief gentle heat is quite safe to use in pregnancy, just don't have the pads too hot. You don't say how many weeks pregnant you are but if you are more than 35 it is worth asking your midwife what position your baby is in, if it is posterior, i.e facing forward with its back to yours this can cause back pain. if it is some simple exercises can rotate it into the correct position. Try spending 10 minutes a day, or more, on all fours and rocking gently. also try sitting astride a dining chair back to front or on a birth ball. Any position which brings your centre of gravity slightly forward should help, try to be aware of your posture, particularly whilst sitting, resist the urge to slouch in a soft chair or sofa. If your back pain is lower it may be that you have some disfunction of the symphisis pubis so seeing a physio might help. Good luck.

get a wedge pillow and sleep with it between your knees. This should take some of pressure off your back. you shouldn't use heating pads in pregnancy.
