doesn't matter about your age. A moped is defined as being a vehicle that has a top speed of no more than 30mph.
Plus you will void any warrenties and probably your insurance as well.

It has to stay at 30mph to be a moped, if you de restricts it it becomes a motorcycle and you cannot ride a motorcycle in the UK under 17. If you had owned a fuctioning brain you would have acquired a "Clasic" moped AP50 F1E or SS50ZB2 or fastest of all Garelli Rekord which had to be capable of being pedalled but had no speed limit.
30 MPH mopeds are lethal, who cares about crashing into things, anything up to 50 hardly hurts it is the moron what runs into the back of you and run you over that kills you.
LACK of SPEED KILLS,
Track down a classic Moped, 70 cc converted Honda SS 50 s are good but dont use the 5 speed ZB2 as the gears are weak use the 4 speed, do it up and have fun, still only looking at 45 cruising and make sure you keep the pedalling gear in full working order. The old FS1E is a bit of a dog speedom shows 60 at 45 and then only down hill, AP 50 is a bit faster but the Garelli, if you use a hard racing plug, which means starting on a soft plug and changing when warm or a very long push start with no choke to avoid fouling but with just a hard plug, and a bar smashed through the baffles they will do 55 almost as fast as a 125 Honda, yet as standard they are slow and prone to seizure, probably rare as hens teeth now though.

Sorry but if you are in the UK and 16 it would be illegal for you to ride it derestricted. At 17 you could get it deristricted and legally use it but you would need to inform DVLA and your insurance company. It may be slow but this route is more trouble than it's worth.

illegal mate, at 16 you can only ride up to 4hp i think, do it anyway though. No one will know and if you do get stopped say that's the way you brought it! :)

Or you could be patient. At 17 you can get a half decent bike, running at 15hp, 125cc (70-100mph) and be totally legall, and your CBT will still be valid

You cant drive 33hp on a provisional. Only on a restricted full, and then you still got L plates. After two yrs on a restricted full you can drive what you like. or at 21 you can do a fast track test and ditch the Ls all together.

If im being fully honest (dunno if anyone else has put this) but....

if you are in say a 50 speed limit, the d**ks behind you dont pay attention they come very close to you, it would be safer to deresrict the limit your alloud but no the government dont have that much sense, its the lack of speed that kills as theres many bad drivers on the road, but alot of good drivers too, besides whats the difference of a year, especially at that age when you dont need to retake a CBT if you done it when 16 to actually get on a 125 when your 17, i mean yeah bit stupid but the laws the law, and they dont check it on the M.O.T but i wouldnt overly reconmend it.

hi, It sounds to me like your moped could be limited. The regulation states that for a sixteen twelve months old the motorcycle could have a speed selection between 25-40 5 km/h. i'm stunned the legitimate regulation is in km/h thinking our usa makes use of mph speed limits. in case you get pulled over by utilising the police you should be in difficulty. you should even have the papers declaring that it extremely is been limited. of direction there are various youthful sixteen twelve months old that get their motorbikes derestricted and carry onto the their limit papers. it extremely is obviously unlawful and lower back you would be in difficulty in case you acquire caught. i'm hoping this facilitates. :)

I believe the law is "design speed of 30mph". As long as you don't do anything too obvious like taking the baffle out of the exhaust (bad for the engine) you can get a bit more out of it.

In most locals that is an illegal modification no matter your age and license. It is limited that way because they are even more deadly if there is an accident with them at higher speeds.

Having said that, you can temp modify most of them so you can replace the restriction when you bring it in for maintenance or certifications...not that I would know...

Depends on the local laws. But, yea, it's almost certain that the reason why anyone ever restricted the thing in the first place is because it's illegal to go over that speed.

Yes. The Guidelines set out by the DVLA are that they should not travel any faster as the brakes can't cope and as you are only on a provisional lisence than the restrictions are much greater.
